Newb From SEMO
Hello all, been registered on this site for almost a year now, but could not post anything. I guess my account never got fully activated...and after countless emails to the admins to get everything fixed, I finally got my response! So, about me...well I got into orchids about 3 years ago when I was getting out of the saltwater fish hobby. My grandfather was an avid gardner and plant lover, so the love for houseplants and gardens came to me naturally. When he passed away I was just getting into my own houseplants, and felt like he had a huge part in my love for them. After going through alot of Wal-Mart and Lowes foliage plants, I ended up buying a single Phal on clearance for $2 at Lowes. After that I got a book and started reading...that book lead into 3 more, and before I knew it I had 5 different Phals and Dendr.'s. I then got a membership to Missouri Botanical Gardends...and from then on i've been hooked! I now have 5 Dendrs, 5 paphs (one in its 2nd bloom now), 3 phals (2 blooming), 3 Onc. (heaven scent in bloom), 1 Beallara Patricia McCully (in spike), 1 Cattelaya, and 1 Brassavola "Little Stars". I've had many more, but gave them to my mom for her fun (usually doesnt end well). Thanks to MO Bot. Gardens gift shop, i've managed to come up with some great plants off the "clearance rack" for cheap, but with great results! I have many questions about some issues i've had over the couple years i've been doing this, and look forward to your advice!

Welcome to OB. Strange to think it would take a year to be able to do anything, but you're here now

Welcome to Orchid Board! AbBontanical garden should be an excellent source for unusual and healthy orchids.
