Hi - Newie
Smile Hi - Newie

Hi there

Im just new on here and new to forums so if I've formatted this wrong I apologise in advance.

I started collecting orchids late 2010, beginning with 2 cattleyas and 1 cymbidium that we've had for ages... Last year I got a little crazy and bought more cattleya's, Cymbidiums and dendrodiums.. I got given some which was really nice. I haven't really done too much research into them apart from knowing not to over water.

We bought a phal late 2010 and must have over watered it as it died soon after, we bought another in spring (We live in the blue mountains, Sydney Australia so spring is September) and thats been growing ok, the flower lasted till late december and has a new leaf growing now.

I bought a vanda that unfortunately I think is dying/ dead already... It only came with 1 root to begin with and was very small. i didnt realise it was so small when I ordered it... I really want to learn how to grow these and also ensure the other orchids bloom with flowers...

I think thats alot of info on me for now, would love your feedbacks, hints and tips

Thanks

Welcome to Orchid Board! I'll leave the suggestions to others for now. I hope 2012 is a good year in orchids for you.
