hello ~ brand new to orchids. :)
hi there,
So, I have been planning on buying an orchid for several months, but I was waiting till it was time for me to move to my new place where there is better lighting.
So, today was the day, and I walked to the store to buy my new orchid.
I ended up buying two little Phalaenopsis. Well on the walk back home I think they may have froze.
However, I will save my questions about that for a different section here.
Anyway, I look forward to meeting you all and learning more about orchids.

Welcome and Hello ! Sit back, relax and read postings from some of our members where you can glean precious knowledge on how to care for your orchids based on their wealth of experience
Orchids are sturdy plants...it will take a lot of neglect before you kill it...it takes hours to make ice in your refrigerator freezer...its the same number of hours to freeze the water inside the cells of your plant.

Thanks again Bud, I'm hoping they just got a little shock and will perk back up very soon.
Thanks for your help too.

Hi orphansparrow and welcome to the OB! Hopefully your plants perk up and are ok.
What a very exciting time for you just starting out in the wonderful world of orchids. You certainly have come to the right place to share and learn with others.
Lots of great features here at the forum too. Look up a word in our Glossary, post a picture in you own personal photo album, join other members in a friendly Chat.
Enjoy!
