Oncidium with dark purple pseudobulbs
One of my Oncidiums is doing quite well with new growth appearing but, I noticed the other day, one of the pseudobulbs is becoming a very dark purple color. I am concerned that perhaps it is getting too much light. Can someone please tell me if this is the case or what the problem could be?

Yes, pics would be very helpful. Unlike some other orchids I din't think any Oncs get purple. In high light they usually turn yellow.

Welcome to Orchid Board. I've not come across Oncs going purple, as Camille says yellow is more common on these in high light.
Picks will certainly help understand what it might be. See the links in my signature for tips on posting those.

I'm wondering if the colour is going brownish-purple,
which could be the PB starting to rot at the base. I've had that experience with an oncidium.

OMG I sure hope it is not rot because it is kind of brownish purple. What can I do if it is rot? I just received as a gift not long ago and repotted after the flowering. I will try for a pic, my camera died and I just got a new one.

If it's a mule ear type O. Luridum turns purplish in high light. Google it.

I'll repeat "pictures would be helpful." Is the color starting from the base of the PB? If it is actually beginning to rot, I would cut off the PB and disinfect the cut with Captan, cinnamon, or something similar. Perhaps the roots should be checked to see if you might be overwatering. Good luck!
