New here and to orchids!

Hi everyone!

I finally decided I needed to join a forum to help me know how to take care of my orchids, so here I am!

I have been "rescuing" orchids that stores are throwing away. I started with one, and now my group has grown to seven! They are mostly phaleonopsis - including one dwarf - and one that's a dendrobium (my most recent aquisition) and one I'm not sure what it is. They are all somewhat sad looking despite my attempts to properly grow them, so I figure it's time I get some help. I also have two calendula plants (also "rescues") that I got recently and I'm discovering how to take care of as well. Now that the weather is cold and my outside garden does not need as much attention anymore, I can give some to my indoor plants!

I am a stay-at-home mother of two young children and one more due next month. I love gardening, crafting, sewing, writing, intertior decorating, and toy collecting (My Little Ponies and Littlest Pet Shop - the old ones). My life's a bit crazy with little kids, but I try to take a little time for myself every once in a while to keep me sane! I love having plants in my home - it makes it feel so much more cheerful and alive!

I look forward to meeting people on this forum and learning a lot about orchids!
