I feel like a geek!
HI!
Just a quick introduction! My family all think I'm crazy because for the lase few years I have steadily been collecting orchids (and other house plants if I'm honest) until my house looks like a garden center! I'm up to around 30 orchids with a couple of masdevallias on their way (YAY) and, to be honest, I LOVE IT! Don't think its how a girl in her 20's is supposed to spend her time but I guess I must be a massive geek!
Anyway, I tried to upload some of my orchids but I couldnt work out what goes in the section labled "show case name". I also don't really know all the details of where they are from etc. Any help would be really appreciated.
What I KNOW about my collection so far is that I have around 15 Phalaenopsis, one of which has been constantly flowering for just over 2 years! I have a couple of cymbidiums, a beallara, 3 oncidiums, an odontoglossum, 4 dendrobiums, a newly acquired paph and an odycidium (I think).
I love my collection and look forward to getting help from some people in the know!

you'll get no arguments from "the other orchid geeks" here on the board. This is a safe space 35 is too little, get out there and buy some more. Some of us are at 100 and counting

Don't think I have the space! Wish I did but with all my other houseplants taking up their fair share there is barely room to move.
Especially with the cymbidiums, those things are HUGE!

Won't be long and those other houseplants may be replaced with orchids if you're anything like me. Welcome, you will find this forum is a wealth of information.

Well then I am a geek also I have over 200 hibiscus and I am in my 20's lol. I started this hibiscus mania when I was 15/16. I am creating a Terrarium and will hang some dendrobiums under my lights next to my hibiscus

Welcome! You are in VERY good company here. I'm pretty sure we're all geeks.
I have a lot of houseplants besides my orchids. I'm up to 46 orchids and maybe a few more of the "other" plants. I like having lots of different plants, especially foliage plants, because most orchids don't look like much without flowers (shhhh! Don't tell anyone I said that, especially not my orchids! ).
You'll find lots of other people on here who have their own secret addictions besides orchids.
Here's a link to a thread about posting photos. Hope it helps so you can show us some pics!

Welcome!! You are certainly in the right place. Last count here was 175. But, I added 13 last week and have 4 on the way from one forum member and 3 more from another. I have about 20 or so "other" plants. Trust me, you are now cyber-surrounded by enablers. Your orchid count will be growing soon.

Welcome! I hope you will have fun here. I also collect other plants (herbs, flowering tropical plants, and some other odds and ends). Orchids are just a small part of the plant collection.
