General rule of thumb here: If you know how many orchids you have, then you don't have enough.

At least your family calls you geek, mine calls me old and senile. Who knows, they may be right. LOL But enjoy your orchids anyway...Jean

Welcome to OB!
I'm also in my 20s, and an orchid geek. Of course even without the orchids I'm still a major geek for being a scientist...
I have somewhere around 50-60 orchids, but I'm not too sure anymore, I lost track a while ago! About 75% are Phals, mostly species, primary hybrids and some novelty Phals.
You may think that there's no more room for orchids, but there's ALWAYS room for one more. Hint: if you buy minis then there's always room for several more!

Welcome to Orchid Board from a fellow Brit
My family also think I'm crazy, but hubby indulges my hobby
It sounds like you are trying to load pictures to the OCD (Orchid Collection Database). The showcase name is just a name for the record, it's what's shown against the picture basically. I usually use the full name of the orchid, or a NoID name. Click on the white list icon to the right inside the bar where my name is. (Just under the number of posts). It should show some of my orchids and you can see the sort of showcase titles I've given mine.
You can also include pictures in posts, and for that see the link in my signature for advise on how to do it.

As another girl in her 20s I think this is a perfectly normal hobby.
Of course I do come from a long line of geeks...

It works fine, you managed to attach thumbnail pics in your last post.
I saw that you tried to post direct links to flickr. Normally to do that (I think, since I don't use flickr myself) you need to click the share button at the top and then copy paste the BB code here. But I could be wrong... have a look at in the link in Rosie's signature on how to post pics, posting from photosites is explained.
Nice pics, especially the Cym!

Welcome to the OB! I can promise you your collection will grow within a year you'll have doubled it.
Great pictures, you have "the touch", just need a bit of practice. The Cym. photo is First Class! I really like the way you captured the phal spike. Can't think of the name of that phal. right now but it will come to me.
