Welcome to Orchid Board
Do you know what type of orchid it is? There are so many types with very different care needs that it's difficult to give advise without that. If you don't know then a picture might help, there is advice on how to post a picture in the link in my signature.
Did the flowers look the same shape as the ones in this image (click on it to enlarge it). Don't worry about the colour, just look at the flower shape.
This is a typical flower shape for the commonly sold (at least in the UK) phalaenopsis hybrids so I'm taking a guess that might be what you have.
If it looks right then take a look at this link.
http://www.orchidboard.com/community...ends-here.html which gives lots of information about growing Phals.
Often phals sold in supermarkets or garden centres have been forced to bloom at a time of year they would not usually, this can throw off their flowering rhythm for a while, some people say even for a couple of years. I know my new ones have always taken a while to settle down.
Also most phal hybrids sold in the mass market in the UK are temperature sensitive to prompt flowering. You need a cool down in autumn to trigger new spikes (although I also got them during the cool May this year). If you bought it last year it may not have been ready to spike in the autumn and you may have more success this autumn.
