hello everyone
hello everyone,
I just registed myself for one of the biggest (and maybe one of the best) orchid forums on the internet.
First I will tell something abaout myself.
My name is Koen Koen, I'm 16 years old and I live in Tilburg in The Netherlands. My interests are gardening, orchids and clock-and watchmaking.
Since a few years ago, I'm growing orchids. I started with phalaenopsis orchids, but it didn't took long before I got my first botanical orchid. (dendrobium stricklandianum)I bought a large terrarium, and turned into a very big orchidarium.
I'm sure my english speak/speech will be far away from perfect, and I wil make a lot of mistakes, faults, etc. But I can also learn improve my english on this forum.
I hope I will learn a lot on this forum, and I hope I can also help other people.
Greets,
Koen

all of you, thanx!!!
@salamandra: what do you exactly mean with "How lucky to live where you live will be very easy to access hard to find orchids here."
Do you mean the species that are native to The Netherlands.
In that case it's true. Like anacamptis pyramidalis, which is growing in the lawn of my grandftather. He lives in " wijk aan zee",in the northern half of the netherlands. It is a small village near to the northsea . It's just a 5 minute walk from his house to the north sea beach.
Anacamptis pyramidalis is one of the rarest orchids in the Netherlands, and there are 2 growing spots in the netherlands. And one of them is near his living garden. While mowing the lawn, a few years ago, is even cut a few of while mowing the lawn. But last years I put stick stick next to them, so they won't be cut of.
Now i'm going to bed, and I will post some photographs of my orchidarium in the weekend.
greets.

I was referring to species, in Spain we have many orchids that grow wild in many places, the anacamptis pyramidalis grows here on the edge of roads and forest tracks!
a greeting.
