Long time listener, first time caller
Hi there.
I've been using posts from this site for the past few months as my casual hobby of several years of growing orchids in the home has recently turned into something of a pathology. Today seemed like as good a time as any to join in and participate. This seems like a great board with a great community.
about me:
28 year old "IT guy" from Atlanta, GA
I received an Oncidium (sherry baby) as a gift 10 years ago and, despite my best efforts, it's still alive and well. In the last several years, I've grown dozens of different orchids, though to be truthful, the vast majority I haven't so much grown as killed very slowly.
My current obsessions are Angraecoids (seriously, how can they be so awesome) and planning a greenhouse that will no doubt annoy my neighbors and be impossibly large for my tiny in-town back yard.

I too was a "watcher and reader" for a long time. Then one day I too joined, just so I could ask questions and get answers from people who know what they are talking about. Like they say, there are no stupid questions.

Welcome fellow angraecoid addict! I was a lurker, then tentatively posted once or twice, and started to feel at home. It's quite a nice bunch. You'll make quite a few people envious with your new greenhouse, especially those of us from colder climes.

First off welcome aboard, you will find that it's much more fun to join in than to lurk in the backround.
As to your planned greenhouse, word of advice, make it as large as your backyard, you will in no time at all need the space. Especially if you plan on growing Angraecums. lol
