just poping in to say "hello" I live in france with my husband, 3 maine coons, 2 Somalis and a black moggie along with a scary number of tropical plants and about 130 orchids. Mostly unnamed hybrids that I have bought in garden centers and hardware stores over here, though I do visit two specialist growers once yearly (at shows) so I now have a couple of named creatures. the collection ( or more aptly named "muddle") consists of mainly odontoglossom alliance with some phals, dendrobs, catts, vandas, and a few phrags thrown for good measure. )opps forgot the cybidiums ) I'm far too much of a magpie to to choose one type and stick with it I'm afraid ( although vandas are starting to become a bit more numerous). they all spend the winter in our conservatory and much of the spring, summer and autumn outside as they can. I caught the bug about 6 years ago and have been adding to the muddle ever since. I've nearly lost a few in that time, but even when I have bought replacements, I can never give up on a plant that I have nearly killed so even the saddest outlook gets given a second chance and often revives to swell the ranks!!
