Welcome to Orchid Board Bob
Do you know what sort of orchids you have. Care for orchids varies a lot depending on the type.
If you are not sure then try posting some pictures and we should be able to help. (See the link in my signature below for help on posting pictures).

Welcome aboard! You've come to the right place for answers, thoughts and opinions.
Rosie is correct. Each type of orchid requires a different type of care, and the range can even vary depending upon the species of that particular type.
Full names would help tremendously, i.e. Psychopsis Mendenhall, Trichoglottis gemmata, etc... (last one was made up just to give you an idea).

Welcome aboard Bob, I agree with the others, give us as much information as you have along with pictures and we will have you on your way to correctly caring for and hopefully reblooming your orchids.

Welcome and Hello ! Sit back and relax, read postings of some of the senior members who can give you knowledge of their past experieces and their advice is priceless. Please post pictures of your orchids so we can help you better...I cannot advice you on repotting unless I know what type of orchid you have...repotting can be in clay or plastic or glass...it can be also mounted...or on S/H method
you can use media: moss, bark, lava rock, charcoal or a mixture of each and everything
