^ Yes, definitely a good thread. Nice to see people rescuing abused phals from the stores. There's also lots of useful advice in it.


Well, at this point I've added 3 more orchids to my collection. They're all non-phals. An Encyclia, an Oncidium, and a Sierra Skies. Much to my surprise, they are quite a bit smaller than I had been led to believe from the seller. Their photos of the actual plant don't show anything to scale. Anyway, it'll be at least 2 years before I see any flowering from them! But, I'll try to be patient.
