a few years back a neighbor was moving from Sunny So. Fl. to the midwest and gave me two orchids mounted on coconuts, after a year they bloomed and I sent him a picture, he said I did good. About four months later he called and asked if I wanted a couple more orchids as Il. was killing his collection, he sent me a box of bare root orchids, 55 in all. Thats how I learned how to pot them, a few months ago he called again and asked if I wanted the rest. What could I say. After a few of my own purchases I am well over 100 plants and climbing. Someone stop me.
This site has given me a lot of confidence, I even did a flask that I picked up at Tamiami Orchid Fest. about 70% has survived 3 months outdoors. Thanks for listening.
