Hi from Birmingham, UK
Hi guys, thought it might be a good idea to introduce myself and say hello, so that's what i'm doing!
I live in Birmingham, UK (don't ask me what zone i'm in, I don't have a clue )
i have a varied collection of around 200 plants, with a focus on Vandas, though I am beginning to get into Catasetums too.

Welcome from Winchester, UK! I've seen your photos on Flickr, you've got some great stuff to share here...
How well do Vandas do 'up North'? Do you have a special set up?

Hi and welcome to Orchidboard
Vandas are probably my favorites (as if I could actually pick just one ) ...I look forward to seeing your pictures
I don't remember many members in the UK saying they grow vandas there so I'm sure we're all wondering how you do it
If you have any questions, let us know

Aboard, its great that your here. So many of us here would love to see a or two
Sounds like you have a great collection goin' on and as said by other previously...UK and vanda's "how you do dat"
Don't hesitate to chime in on posts and ask away, we are all here with what some would think as a sickness "orchicditis" ... but it's a good thing....my horticulturist doctor told me to by a chid bi-weekly and if I am still feel like I have the bad case of the orchid blues...make it 2-3 a bi-weekly...whewwww...now that's what I'm talking about

Orchiditis would be an inflammation due to orchids or orchids that are inflamed ..
I believe the term is .. Orchidosis .. a condition pertaining to orchids ... acute or chronic or both!
BTW
WELCOME
Glad you can join us at OB

I like to call myself an 'orchidiot'. Thanks for the welcome guys.
In answer to the vandas up here in polar birmingham, i have a sunny window sill and a lot of vases. They grow and bloom ok though this year is a bit ropey because of the non-existant summer.
