Thanks. It is interesting to see where they get shipped to. I mostly paint animals, but of coarse I have to do orchids sometimes, too.
I have a variety of orchids, but of coarse, Vandas are my favourite.

The paintings are really pretty, but the necklace is also very nice. I can imagine you like to paint Vanda's, but the animals are also very pretty. Good job.

Thank you Willeke! I am Planning to do a couple of vanda paintings on canvas for a change. Things are pretty slow on ebay right now. I have painted pets, mostly dogs for many years now. Dogs are what sells best, but I have even sent a rat pin on agate to Germany! Sometimes people want an unusual animal painted, like the serval portrait that I did a few weeks ago. That was a challange!

I can imagine that animals that are a bit unusual are more of a challenge. It al depends on what the people want I guess. Hope that things will get better soon. How are the Vanda's doing at the moment. Do you have any bloomings ones right now. My Vanda's are all out of bloom right now. Although they are growing new roots and leaves, so thats a good sign.

The vandas are doing fairly well, I just put my big 10 year old in the new cedar basket that my husband made for me. It's in spike. I had some problems with the 2 I bought in early March. They were bare root, and despite soaking them every day, one dropped a spike. Then, the only baskets I had to put them in were wire ones with cocoa fibre linings, which they didn't like. the roots began to rot so I took the fibre out. now they are begining to look better. the roots were so long that it was difficult to know what to do.

Nice that there is one in spike right now. I'm glad that the other two are doing better now. It's always a problem to find out why they are not doing well. Hope everything will be fine now. Couldn't your husband make a basket for them as wel. May be they would like that better.

That's nice of him. Hope they will do better then. Ofcourse you will keep him, I think he's very sweet if he is helping with the Vanda's. I think my husband could do that as wel, if only I had the space to hang them. Really to bad. Otherwise I could have more Vanda's. I only have space for a few more small ones.

I think that I realisticly have room for my vascostylis and no more. We need to knock a hole in the wall and put in a big South facing window! But we need to win the lottery first.

Yes that's always a bit of a problem. There al still so many Vandaceaos orchids I like to have. Everytime I see another one I like. There are just to many. But space is always an isue if you don't have a large enough house. Or you could put them oudside 24/7. But here in Holland that's just not possible. To bad.
