I just wanted to say hello, and that I love the amount of info I can find on this forum. I'm pretty new to really growing orchids. Before I've always just had one or maybe two that I could never get to bloom again. But I've fallen in love with Paphs and I have gotten them to bloom now. So, I took the plunge and now have roughly 30. I'm setting up a grow closet using LEDs and CFLs. If anyone has any advice for setting this kind of system up I am all ears.

Welcome to the forum!!! I don't even know what LEDs and CFLs are but I'm sure some of our North Americans will know what you mean.

We hope you find your stay here even more enjoyable in the future.

Welcome! Big Time! First time for Grow Closet, but I am sure it will work. Don't see any reason why not. First lights. Then next lights. Then next plants. Instead of CFL consider T5 banks. They are available in 24" and 48" (maybe special order 36") Try .: Sunlight Supply - horticulture and aquarium lighting systems :. Website for source.

Default Thanks for all the replys

I've started to look at the T5's and that might be a great way to go. Thanks for the tip. I will be posting pics as the project gets under way. I'm in the planning phase right now, but will be starting the build here soon.

Welcome to the Forum, glad you could join. How many LED's do you have to use, and how bright are they? THanks.

Hi and welcome to Orchidboard

Can't believe I almost missed this thread!

You've found a great place to meet others with the same addiction

It goes like this:
Orchids
Orchid pictures
Orchidboard

A word of caution:
watch out for those paphs...they're sneaky

If you need help with anything, let us know

Tindomul1of9 the led's i'm using are a system. It has 1088 led's at about 56 watts. with a ratio of 3 reds to 1 blue.

cb977 I have to ask what you mean by saying paphs are sneaky?
