Hello Everyone,
This website and board are just wonderful. I have been lurking and reading for a few months now and have learned sooooo much. So now it is time to introduce myself so I can ask questions.
Bought my first orchid a few years ago, and I'm really not completely sure what type it is. It has pseudobulbs and branching bloom stalks with lots of small blooms. I have successfully started a few new plants from old back bulbs. I have some other types as well. Right now I have 98 blooms in my house
But my true love is Phalaenopsis. They suck me in every time. Almost all of mine are NOIDS [learned that term here] purchased at Lowes or the grocery store. I love that the Phals bloom in fall and winter. My blooming orchids are what get me through the grey days.
My hubby and I have 2 girls in college and a son in highschool. [Yes, I am feathering my empty nest with orchids--do you have a problem with that??] We both love to read and work in the yard and are active in our church. I used to teach high school English, but now my job is managing several rental houses that we own.
