I'm in NE Arkansas. I am very new to growing Orchids. I purchased my first mini phal hybrid last week and picked up two grocery story phals this afternoon at Kroger on clearance. They just looked so sad I couldn't leave them there.

I am a preveterinary student at ASU. I am addicted to these beautiful flowers and I can't wait to learn more about them.

Welcome! I'm in Memphis not too far. Come on over to the Memphis Orchid Society mtgs. Next one is April 17. we also have a big show and the mid America orchid congress in may. Details at Breaking News. Mtgs are free. The show is free. The special events for MOC are extra.

I figured the farther I spread the question the more likely my new babies are to survive my newness

Thanks so much for all the advice on both forums. You guys are great.

I am also proud to say that I fought the temptation to buy another plant today though I did find several more beautiful chids....
Why am I so poor?? And why are these flowers so addicting??
