I don't know if you've seen Orchid Karma's blog, but she has some interesting mods to humidifiers which take the "fog" up to the top of her orchids after which it cascades down over the plants. You might be able to do this kind of thing with your model.

I'm not sure it's a good idea to completely stop the fans - most people seem to think 24/7 fans are a good idea - particularly once your RH gets about about 60% - otherwise you tend to have issues with fungi.

In fact, I was thinking about something like that, but homemade, with a fan under a tube to project the fog upstairs. Will see what's the cheapest.

Concerning fungi, I already deal with phytophtora which took me 2 Aerangis. So, I keep an eye on each root/leaf è_é

A lot of those humidifier units already have a fan built in, so it's just a matter of attaching a tube to them of roughly the right diameter
