Hey Orchid Board... Fell in love with orchids the day I saw and smelt a wild lady slipper orchid in the woods of Massachusetts..

Really love glass and at the moment the only orchids I can share are glass ones i've made, but since I just moved to Ventura California I was hoping to fill my window up with orchids

Just joining here to hopefully find some good places to find some ideal orchids, and to learn everything I can about them!!

thanks for the warm welcome everyone, already dunno where to start after looking around and seein so much info!!! really love the idea of mounted orchids...

hoping to fill my window up and almost make a "green curtain". I was thinking of getting tiny shelfing and getting rid of the blinds so i could have various levels of orchids

hoing to start a little table outside my window too for some outdoor guys!

I do have more / better lighting in the home... but i'd rather start with my room than the entire place since i share my spot... so until then i got a great spot for indirect sunlight / minor light

horrible pic:

my mess:

Wow, wow, wow! Your art looks great! Do you make these glass orchids at home?
I won't be of much help suggesting which orchids to buy, but remember that mounted orchids need higher humidity and more frequent watering, especially here, in California

Welcome to OB. You will find that this is a great place to learn.
Your glass orchids are stunning. Do you sell them?
You mentioned Massachusetts- have you ever seen the glass flowers at the Peabody Museum at Harvard?
