hello
Just want to introduce myself. I am new to the forum but am open to learning anything I can. have been growing orchids for 7 years and belong to local society. I am the newsletter editor and read everything to get new ideas for articles. I grow a wide assortment of orchids mostly in LECA(Prime Agra) and have been growing in the house under lights. Am in the process of picking out a greenhouse and will build later this summer.Looking forward to a great learning experience.

Welcome to the Orchid Board! Glad you could join us. Many of our members also grow in Semi Hydro conditions using the LECA.

Hi and
What 'chids are you growing? I also have the majority of mine in aliflor (same thing ). I recently became our local club's newsletter editor and have used lots of information I found right here at OB to help educate our club members. Our OB members are very generous and all it takes is for you to ask their permission to reprint one of their articles.
Our addiction here is multi-layered: orchids, orchid pictures and Orchidboard
Some photos of your chids would be great!
If you have any questions, just ask

Thanks for the welcome
Thanks everyone. It sure is nice to be welcomed. I live in Eastern Washington state and we are really a high desert. I just finished moving all my orchids onto my covered patio. I grow mini catts, paphs, phals, phrags, and an assortment of this and that. I am in the process of purchasing a greenhouse so am looking forward to that. I will be happy to exchange newsletters is anyone is inclined. We have a small society here, about 20 members but some very experienced and active growers. I look forward to exchanging ideas and learning a lot. Thanks again, mojomick

Welcome,
I have a question about the Prime Agra. Are you using it as a medium or are you doing the Semi-hydroponics?

prime agra & sh
I use Prime Agra almost exclusively for those orchids that like sh. I have an occasional vanda that stays in a basket, but most of the rest of my collection live in sh conditions and so far are happy. I really like it as I always know when to water. I have killed several plants with rot and don't seem to do that now. mojomick
