Hi, I'm a newbie and this is my 1st post! Female
Wink Hi, I'm a newbie and this is my 1st post!

My name is Jeremi and I live in Florida. I'm new at Orchids. I have 7 total and I will post pictures later, I don't know all of their names and I don't want to post the wrong name. Hoping you guys/girls can help me out. Orchids got my attention because of the late Grandfather who use to love his. I pick up only ones that my husband and I think are the different , unique ones. I hope to learn alot from this group, thats for allowing me to talk.

Welcome to Orchid Board

You may find some of your orchids can't be exactly ID'd because there are lots of hybrids which have never been registered in some of the genuses (such as Phalaenopsis) and in these the same look can be shared by ones with completely different parantage.

Don't worry though, many of us grow NoIDs (No ID) and love them just as much as those with names. I give all of mine a name, but then mark on the tag that it's just my name. When I post pictures on OB I then just say it's a NoID so people don't see an incorrect name.

We should be able to get you genus names if you need help with those, and some of them may be able to get closer than that as well. It's good to get as acurate as you can for care help and we can generally recognise at least the level you need for that.

Anyway... enjoy OB
