Well Howdy ;-)

I was a planted freshwater guy for a long time, but have switched recently to Dendrobates ie. Poison Dart Frogs.

In doing so I created a monster tank which has my freshwater planted area, my frog area, and since I needed plants...... Plants as well as Orchids

I got a few from people I met at the local Botanical gardens and from a few friends.

Untill yesterday I did not consider myself a orchid person untill lowes was liquidating some plants and what I saw was a rack of orchids for $1/ea...

Needless to say I bought 15 of them and now need to learn about caring for them.

Lots of Vanda's Cattelya's and a few oncidium, B. Nodosa, eplicattelya.

First here is a link to my tank before the orchids went in

Welcome to Orchid Board.

Great haul of plants. My local stores sell them off cheap when the flowers drop, however they never have named ones, just unnamed Phalaenopsis.

Note that sometimes the bargin plants have root problems due to bad care at the shop. If you have early problems it may not be your fault... so don't give up. Afterall at that price you can afford to give them a go and see how they do.

Welcome to the orchid board. Nice group of plants were these bag babies? That's the only place you find variety at my store, but I never saw a markdown sale on them. Are these going in your tank?

Welcome to OB! Very nice deal on some orchids! Often you'd be doing well to find 1 orchid for $15. My first orchid, an Ascocenda, also came from Lowes. I'd love to see some pics of your tank when you have it all set up.
