Most of our kids are over 20. But you're older than all of the grandchildren... I started growing when I was about 20. Welcome!

i wish i have started on orchids earlier... though i actually was interested in it when i was 21/22 - i actually started when i was about 27/28 and now am 30yo.

but i remember when i was young, i can get free plants quite easily when my parents say that i am interested in gardening. you can do the same trick, perhaps asking orchids for presents instead of toys. and you have time to study about orchids too!

i read somewhere about a young boy who loves daylilies from very young. when he is a teenager, he is already a judge, a hybridizer and a speaker to older enthusiast! there are also some cat judges / breeder who started young and become pro when still in teens. and btw, tiger woods start at 5.

Yeah,
I'd have to second that age is no big deal! I may have 44 years of life, but some days, I act more like a 9 year old.... It's the plants!

Well, you can be a doctor who raises orchids! I am one. I've also been a photographer, a bank clerk, a wife and mother.
Life is too short to just do one thing. Take it from 61 year old me.
