Can I assume from your message above that it worked out OK for your job, despite missing the graduation deadline. I was worried about that (though probably not as much as you) especially as it wasn't your fault.
So far it seems to haved sorted itself out, the professor who hired me says they can work around the lack of diploma by the fact that I have finished all the requirements for the degree. So in his eyes, I'm "graduated".
Today I met my insects: room upon room of mosquitos! Most are fed via bags of blood from the blood bank, but some still need real human victims to fed upon. For beginners they start you out by letting you stick your arm in a cage of 50 hungry mosquitos, then they bring it up to 1000. All in the name of science....

Glad that's working out. Good on that professor for looking on it the sensible way.

I don't think I could stand those mosquitos though... ugh

mmm mmm No no. Thats why I study plants, very few are blood suckers. Also they don't poop or pee.
But then there is the occasional poison ivy or sumac or stinging nettle etc... Easily avoidable.

That's also why I study plants (and the nicer insects like butterflies)! But money is money and I couldn't afford to be picky about a 3 month job, even if it does involve too many nasty mosquitos.

Good to have your input back on the board, I missed your posts!

Hope your anti malarials are up to date now that you are getting bitten so often. Don't think I could do that , everytime a common or garden mosquito bites me I swell up and have to take anti histamine - and it hurts like mad! (the swelling, not the biting)
