Default New here, and to orchids
My name is Mark and I live in Houston, TX USA. I have owned orchids for just under a week as of this writing. I currently have 2 orchids; the first is Ascocenda Ruth Campbell 'Lilac.' I found it marked down to a dollar from $15, and managed to get it for only 10 cents. The second one is a blooming Beallara Pacific Treasures 'Everything Nice' that I got for $15 two days after the Ascocenda. I'll try and post pics of them later. That's all for now.

I took it out of the moss it came in and put it in a coarse mix of fir bark, perlite, and charcoal since this picture was taken.

Hi and welcome to the OB! Very nice looking orchids and you got the for a great price! Why was the one so cheap? Also, I could be way off my rocker, but I'm pretty sure that Beallara's like a fine mixture rather then a course mixture to grow in since they are a Oncidium Intergeneric. Hope you don't mind me giving advice right off the start. Good luck with your two new additions to your family!
