Default newbie update

i thought i would post an update on my new plants. i started with a bunch of small ailing plants, and made some changes.

Alaticaulia trochilus - died immediately

Angraecum sesquipedale - repotted into s/h, sprouted one new leaf that is growing

Gongora quinquenervis - tiny new growth initially but is not actively growing

Jumellea arachnantha - no change

Masdevallia schroderiana - repotted into s/h and has multiple new shoots, growing

Specklinia citrina - no change

Stanhopea jenischiana - growing growing growing!!!

Stelis gemma - repotted into s/h, no change

Trigonidium obtusum - maybe a small new growth at the end of an old leaf intially? i tied more moss around the cork because i read they don't like to dry out.

here's the setup:

the larger phal and alicearas are growing well but no sign of spikes.

i am going to hang the stanhopea, and fertilize the gongora more regularly.

does anyone have any other suggestions for the plants that aren't growing well? i thought if i listed the ones that are it might give an idea of the environment they are all in.

i live in southern bc canada. the plants are in a WN facing window but get a lot of bright (but indirect) afternoon and evening sun.

(when i first got my phal and aliceara the flowers lasted about a month so i think there probably isn't enough sunlight for them in this window in the winter, but i am hoping it will be enough in the summer.)

temps here are very variable. can be 10-15 at night and 18-25 day. i mist and water more often in the heat and the window provides a good breeze. it will get warmer as the summer progresses.

i actually thought the cooler growing masd would not do very well, but it is growing. i wonder if it was already too hot for the trochilus. i have the options of moving some plants to my partner's place, which is a SW facing basement, cool and bright.

the obovbata is in mostly moss right now and i am considering repotting it; however, i have read that they dislike disruption and overpotting, and it is so small that i am tempted to leave it as it is.

it's the trigonidium, the stelis and the obovata that i am most concerned about at the moment. the jumellea seems dormant but is a decent size and healthy.

i'm not sure if this is the best spot on the forum to get information but i thought if i could get some help with the whole group instead of each one in the species forums, that i might learn more.

much appreciated.
