New orchid grower in Maine
I’m back after many years away from growing orchids. Lived in Santa Barbara where I grew cool growing species outside on my patio. Now living in Maine, I just completed my greenhouse.
Today I went to one of our local orchid nurseries and picked up 3 species orchids.
Laelia anceps ‘broadbow’
Laelia purpurata var. werkhauseri
Leptotes bicolor
I am very excited to be able to grow orchids again.

Welcome fellow Mainer! It is so good to have another "Maniac" here on the OB. We are definitely in the minority!
You must be in the Southern part of our beautiful State to find species orchids at "one" of your local green houses!! I only have one small green house available to me in the Bangor area.
Anyway, good to have you here, you'll enjoy the OB very much.

Love the epiphyte log, what a novel idea. How is it constructed?

Thanks,
It's made from two pieces of 2" PVC pipe, connected with a slight elbow joint then wrapped with sphagnum and galvanized wire.
