Hello from Mersea Island - First OB post
Hello Everyone,
I've been looking at this board for ages and so I've finally joined. I only have 13 orchids in my collection (including a Phal Keiki) which are heavily biased towards fragrance
I've never been a member of a forum before, so I'm hoping that I'm posting this correctly, but I thought I'd step in and say a big from Mersea Island ... which is an Island off the NE coast of Essex, uk, in case you didn't know!
Looking forward to getting to know everyone,
xJx

Hi
It'll mean dusting off my camera, but I'll try!

Hi Jenny,
Welcome to Orchid Board.
Glad you managed to register finally, we had a couple of little glitches after the server move but I think Marty's getting them sorted when he can.
I'm in the UK as well... although a little further from the sea... I'm somewhere close to what is classed the center of England.

Thanks Rosie,
I'm really enjoying looking through the site. My only local orchid buddy is about to move to Switzerland, so this is looking like a good place to fill the void

Hi Jennyfleur,
I love Mersea, we are not that far from you and pay a visit a couple of time a year just for the Fish 'n' Chips
Welcome to the board.

Hi UK Cat - so it's the fish and chips for you then not the oysters?
Mind you, I met a woman at the bus stop who was using her free bus pass to come over from Clacton just to get some pies from the butcher (they were her hubby's favourite!)
We've had some lovely sunsets latley, perfect for eating on the front.

to Johnblagg, Maybe I should change my username!
to White Rabbit,
I haven't been collecting long but, even though I don't have many, I don't think it's a bad range:
Brassia chieftain
Coelia bella
Coelogyne ochracea
Maxillaria ochroleuca
Oncidium ornithorhynchum
Phalaenopsis gigantea
Phalaenopsis mini Mark
Phalaenopsis violacea
Phalaenopsis x3 unknown (1 rescued, 1 (now with Keiki) a present from Toyota when I bought my car!)
Paphiopedilum Shin-Yi-Isabel x Delenatii
Sophronitis purpurata
The Sophronitis, Oncidium and Paph are young plants, so no flowers yet, while the Brassia and Coelia Bella are in spike (so not long now) and the Coelogyne is getting ready for the next offering
So nice to meet you all x
