Welcome the the OB - short of having your own personal horticulturist following you around whispering in your ear, I can't think of a better resource for someone looking to do some orchid research. It's a great group with very active and knowledgeable participants. Don't feel shy asking questions and I second the call for pics - please do share once you take the plunge.
