Default hello from ontario!

Hello, I've been growing orchids for a few years and have lost many orchids on the learning battlefield!
I might have lost many battles but I might win the war yet, as one of my phals is spiking for the first time ever and I'm excited.

I currently have two unknown phals (when the one flowers maybe i will post a picture on the identification board!) and a margaret holm 'larkspur' odontoglossum.

Hopefully I won't lose any more orchids since I've joined this forum q:

Welcome to Orchid Board

You probably won't get an ID for your Phals, but don't worry. There are so many phal hybrids, the majority of which have never been registered/officially named. Even if you find a named one that looks like yours you can't be certian of the ID because there could be loads of others that look the same.

There are some exceptions to this, but most unlabled phals will always remain NoID. No need to worry, lots of us grow NoIDs and they are just as pretty without a name. Yes, I try and grow named ones these days but one of my best flowering Phals is a large NoID I've had for years.

Welcome and congrats on the phal spike. It's a real rush when you can get them to rebloom, no?

All the best and happy growing.

Hiya. Welcome to Orchid Board. Ooo, you've got a Margaret Holm 'Larkspur' as well, mine just came in the post today. Let's hope we can keep them healthy and blooming.
