I've enjoyed browsing this board for a while and made my first post today asking a couple of questions about my first Dendrobium. I started keeping some orchids a few years ago after reading "The Orchid Thief" by Susan Orlean. I've been most interested in slipper orchids. I live in central Missouri, USA

OK, here is a picture of one of my favorites, Paph prinulinum x Paph. liemianum. It is a six month old photo and the orchid is now shooting up a new bloom spike.
I'm not really branching out from slippers. I just couldn't resist buying a Dendrobium spectabile after seeing one at the Missouri Botanical Gardens orchid show this year. I had some questions about the bloody thing, which is rather ugly and perhaps the most root-bound plant I have ever seen. I hope the blooms will justify its miserable existence, assuming I can keep the thing alive. Would you like to see a picture?
