, I have been reading and learning this forum for a while now, but this time I am starting my first post. I recently got hooked by this hobby of growing and collecting orchids about 3 months ago. I have 6 mature orchids and few seedlings. As title says, I am from New york so orchids growing is done only indoor in my case in our poyer, which is surrounded by (7)5x3ft. windows or more than 180deg. of sunlight. I have known orchids since I was a little kid back in the Philippines. I got inspired to grow orchids when I went to the Philippines for vacation last year and learned the excitement and beauty of growing them by my uncle. He grows mostly Vandas, Cattleyas, Oncidium, and Dens.

Pictures show my orchids in our poyer along with our birds: finches, canaries, cockatiels.
