Introduction and hello! Female
Default Introduction and hello!

Hi all! I've had a few posts, but I never did "formally" introduce myself, so I thought I'd say hellooo!

My name is Monica and I'm a mother of two beautiful children, I'm a wife of one most loving husband, I'm a caretaker of three babies with fur (kitties specifically), I love orchids, and am trying to learn as much as I can so I don't kill my weight in them, that would be horrible! I love my vegetable garden, I love canning my goodies and sharing my homemade goodies, I love working on our .4 acre lot with great xeriscaping with drought tolerant plants and such, and making divisions of them and moving to and fro about the yard and with neighbors.

I work full time doing graphic design/desktop publishing, and I have enjoyed coming here to learn new things, as well as to escape into a new world where I can eavesdrop on a lot of conversations on orchids that I know little about, but really desire to learn.

Right now my husband teases me that I "play orchids," just like some people play basketball or golf. I have 25 orchids (1 milt, 2 catts, 1 vuyl., 7 oncs, 5 dendrobiums (one of which I got 9 years ago and nearly killed, and now it's only a few nubs and one promising growth that I am hoping will recover to it's original noid glory), and the rest are noid phals which I have given their own names just so that I can refer to them as something .

Anyway, pleased to meet you all and I call you my friends and teachers.
smiles,
m

Nice to formally meet you Monica. As you know by now, we're a friendly, and kind of wacky bunch.

Welcome, Monica, you'll find we are all wacky here in our own ways here, and all the better for it! Your collection sounds like mine - buy what you like, and learn how to grow it!

Nice to have you here
