Default New to Orchids

Hi guys and gals

We have a fair sized collection of Dart frogs.

We started building the vivariums and have become interested in the plants as much as the frogs. We have several vivs on display and well....the next step is Orchids.

We have a few Bulbo's that are doing well. All of our vivs are 18 inches deep with 2 1/2 inches of ventilation. The plants are allowed to dry out before lights out. The RH is between 70-85% and the temps are around 78-80F maximum. Nightime temps are around 70F.

We're looking for some recommendations for smallish Orchid species that will thrive in this environment.

Thanks in advance

Great forum btw

We have a long ways to go yet. All in good time.

A pic of the whole rack when it was first built.

Thanks very much.

More Orchids, would be the icing on the cake. We had a few Bulbo's bloom and...well...we're hooked.

I'm sure some other members will be able to advise on some orchids - just can be a bit slow here certain times of the day sometimes. I have one bulbo so far, may need to try some more. I look forward to see what you come up with!

Welcome to Orchid Board

Your frogs look great. I love the bright colours.

Take a look in our Terrarium gardening area for idea of what can grow in tanks like yours. I'm sure we have people keeping lizards & frogs who are likely to have posted in that area.
