Hey all Pics as promised, I'm looking to set up an Orchidarium by standing my 3ft tank on its end and putting some perspex on the front and getting a fogging machine to keep the humidity up.

Hope you like it

P.s. What are the Thick Root like things sticking out? do they hold water for the plant?

Beautiful Vanda!

Yes. Those are aerial roots. They should get water as well.

That is a very very nice blue vanda!

For those aerial roots, you can just give them a squirt with a spray bottle. Be careful not too leave any water in that jar, if the roots are sitting in water it will likely rot.

Hi Jake,

I will be very interested to hear how this vanda does long term in this type of culture. I've looked at them many times growing that way and have not dared to buy one yet. I have a potted vanda and I have no idea if that is going to do OK or not, so I'm really interested in different ways of growing them.

Keep us updated if you can, it would be good to know.
