Hello. I've been lurking and learning here for the past few weeks, while amassing a collection of 5 Phals, starting with a bad roots supermarket Phal NOID. Today I purchased a mini-Phal NOID, which I'm hoping someone can ID for me. Avanda, the shop I purchased it from, has tags for most of their orchids and they tell me that they buy all or most from the well-regarded Waldor Orchids in nearby New Jersey, which is why I'm thinking this NOID probably does have a name.
Here's a shot of the entire gang of Phals:
From left to right:
1. The supermarket phal that got me hooked; the air roots seem pretty dead on this one and I plan to repot as soon as it goes out of bloom, as what I can see of the roots in the potting mix don't look so hot either.
2. K.V. Charmer - technically it was also a NOID, since it lacks a tag, but I was able to confirm on the intarwebs that I looks just like what the shop owner told me it is.
3. Dtps. Sweet Strawberry 'Shortcake' FCC/AOS (according to the tag, but I only see AM/AOS in Waldor's web catalog listing for the same).
4. Today's mini-Phal NOID. More than a couple dozen buds on this baby.
5. Phal. Jeanette Brandon 'Crownfox Lemon Ice' AM/AOS. This was the one decent plant I found on a visit to a local Home Depot a couple weeks ago.
Thanks for any suggestions at to what the mini-Phal may be.
