Thanks for the comments. I sympathize about your loss. It was indeed a cold winter. Fortunately, I had my orchids in the house, so no problem.

In the future, however, I hope to have a greenhouse, and if so, I'll make sure to have gas heat available. My father lost about 350 orchids in the 1980s (in northwest Florida) because he was unable to adequately heat his greenhouse with electric space heaters, which were not equal to the task.

Noting your encyclia, I have an Encyclia Nursery Rhyme in bloom and if others are as nice as this one, I am sure there are others in my near future.
