Photographer ISO orchids
Hi everyone, my name is Aboud Dweck and I am a fine arts photographer living near Philadelphia. First, I should say that I know nothing about orchids other than the fact that they are stunning. I started a series of macro photographs of florals last year, and recently, after a visit to the National Botanical Gardens, starting photographing orchids, which I see as a long term project. I shoot florals in my studio as well as in greenhouses. Sometimes I shoot the whole flower, other times a section or detail.
I would like to invite you to visit my web site, where I have posted the beginning of my orchid project. www.abouddweck.com If any of you are near the Philadelphia - Wilmington area and have outstanding specimens I can capture, please send an e-mail to me at dweckphoto@comcast.net.

Welcome to the Orchid Board. Photographers are most welcome here!!!! There is a gallery feature here if you'd like to share any of your photos with the community. Have you ever tried photographing orchids in the wild?

Photographs
As I said, I am new to this. Living in PA I do not think that there are any orchids in the wild around here - are there? They do have a great collection at Longwood Gardens in Kennett Square. I have been there once and two of the four shots on my web site are from my visit. I intend to go down there more often, now that I have seen the lay of the greenhouse.

Welcome to the Orchid Board. Excellent photo you have there
The first genus that come to mind for wild orchids in North America are Cypripediums or Lady's Slippers

I think in wet places. In between limestone and limey soil. On the road side, ditches. I haven't seen one in the wild to know yet. Maybe someone else can give a better description.

Firstly, since I make my living photographing native orchids and other spp in the mid-west, I might know something about this subject.
See my web site and also or or or
There are lots of other natives here in Michigan, including some that are pretty rare.

This thread gives me an idea: Marty, folks, what do you think about a photo-contest in OB? (I'm new here and I don't know if that this type of contest already was done)
