If you have never been to an Orchid Show go to the Longwood Gardens show. You will feel like you died and went to heaven. Take your camera and extra batteries . If you are brave take a shopping cart, wagon or truck oh and lots of $$$

Two is a good start, and those are really good choices... but I'm sure they will be just the start and you'll soon be addicted... especially if you spend time looking at pictures either here or elsewhere, that's what got me addicted.

Hey Welcome to the Boards!

I've only just gotten into orchid growing too, and like you I've wanted to since I was a kid but was told that they were close to impossible to grow. This board was a place were I found it clear that that isn't the case at all. There are some that are more difficult than others, but I think you will be able to find that you can grow more than you think you can...especially with the help of the friendly people here.
