nice site! getting interested in orchids, again!
I figured I'd break the ice here. I collected orchids about 20-odd years ago (as my dad did before me), and went dormant for a while. Now I live in AZ, but only for a few months of the year, since my wife and I are both retired and spend most of our time in NW Mexico, boating, fishing, and studying natural history. My main interests there are lepidoptera, especially moths, and plant identification. On a recent trip to Alamos, I noticed wild orchids being used in landscaping, so i began to search the internet for info on them. About the most useful site I found was the Desert Sonoran Museum section on Alamos flora and fauna. I had hoped to find more detailed information on orchids of Mexico and possibly sources for a few specimens to grow in Mexico, but haven't had much luck. Anyway, I'll enjoy reading your threads and learning anew.
