Hello from NC:-)
I was so happy to find this site! My "addiction" started about 9 months ago with one orchid; I now have 27! I have been having a great time researching and learning about all of the different types of orchids, but the only time I can really talk about my orchids is when I go to the greenhouse. No one else seems that interested, but luckily I have a great hubby who listen (or pretends to listen ) when I am talking about my orchids and the plans for our future greenhouse.

Welcome Nikkik
You are in good company here. I started slowly, but in the last year I went from 4 to 34. This board and the people here got me really addicted.
My hubby either listens or pretends to listen as well. Otherwise people just think I'm mad. There is a friend at work who will listen as well, but he laughs loudly whenever I say I've bought a new one. And most mondays asks my hubby (we work together) if I have bought any more. He thought it hilarious last week when I said I had bought a 6'x6' green house to house more orchids.
You'll find a lot of people here who understand the addiction

Welcome Nikkik- I went from 0 to 41 in just under a year. It is addictive, but so much better than any other addiction I can think of

I have been to the Orchid Trail and I have also gone to Seagrove, it is about an hour and a half away, but she has some really cool orchids.

Hi nikkik, I'm from Wingate just south of Charlotte. Come over anytime to visit. If you haven't been to Orchid Trail you need to go.

Wingate ? Winston-Salem ?? I see the makings of a spring time road trip
My wife has a medical conf in Chapel Hill in March. While she is captive in a conference room, I plan on another visit to the Orchid Trail
