Hello from Wisconsin Male
Default Hello from Wisconsin

Hello all,

I am new to this site and to orchids. My first introduction to them was when I visited my wife in Peru and took a trip to Moyobamba where they have many orchids. I love taking pictures of flowers and the orchids are truly amazing flowers to photograph. For her birthday last week I purchased an orchid for her and have purchased 2 more since this time. my knowledge is limited but I am sure I will be asking questions as things progress.

Thanks,
Chad

Hi Chad!

Welcome to the Orchid Board. Any questions that you have you are sure to find answers here. Everyone is really nice and there are no stupid questions. I have learned so much from participating in the forums here. I started like you with two plants and now I have about 60 - it doesn't take long. What kind of plants do you have?

So far we have I-Aphilopedilum and Paph. Solomon Venus, and 1 other that I do not know the name of. It is really quite interesting to see these beautiful flowers every day. Learning the best techniques to to keep them happy is very important for me as I would like to keep them for a very long time.

If you are near Madison you might want to attend Orchid Quest 2010 next weekend at the Alliant Energy Center. Dozens of orchid exihibits and vendors, orchid overload for a newbie.
