Well, another grower from Australia (think hot and dry)was also worried about how his baby would adapt when it was put in a much moister medium. His answer was to spray or mist the keiki's roots for a couple of weeks before he removed it from the mother plant. Makes sense to me and I plan on doing this with my Phal. amabilis ( who has a keiki with a spike and half a dozen buds). This is my first keiki and I definitely want to be sure the little 'chid will make a smooth transition, too!!
