Hi from a new member from UK. I really enjoyed browsing this forum, so much that i ended up joining. I have been growing orchids for just over a year. I Started off by buying my wife a orchid (phalaenopsis) as a present. Turns out that I enjoy growing them. I now have 4 phalaenopsis, 1 Oncidium orchid (Dancing Ladies), 2 Cymbidiums which I managed to save from a dying plant which was given to me, they had no leaves and when I went to re-pot, they had no roots, they were all rotten so I divided that 1 plant and planted the 2 good looking bulbs in 2 small pots. Both bulbs have now grown another 1 full bulb with plenty of leafs and another set of new bulbs are on the way for each one, 1 Dendrobium and from what i managed to find out a over the internet a Dendrobium Nobile - Dendrobium Spring Dream 'Apollon'.

I am currently trying to identify them as to know exactly how they should be taken care of. Up to this point I have just been lucky and have used common sense. I will post some picture when I get a chance and maybe someone may be able to identify some.

Carlos, welcome to OB! (bienvenido al foro! )

identifying the genus (and in some cases the group within the genus) to which your plants belong would be enough in most cases to know how to care for them. As Nicole already said, Photos would help a lot (however, I think you have most the work alreday done )

Now, identifying hybrids without a label is almost impossible in most cases. Especially complex Phalaenopsis, Cymbidium, Oncidium and Dendrobium hybrids, which are what I suppose you have. Not even finding a photo in internet which looks "exactly teh same!" is a warranty you have identified the plant... there are many many many hybrids outthere which look very similar to each other and are impossible to say appart! Furthermore, many complex hybrids can have such a strong variability in form and color that two sister plants would look like completely different crosses!

The best approach here is keep your plants as NOIDs (No ID) and add a personal name of your taste to give them some ID, which would be valid mainly for you...
