I have a Den kingianum that presently is putting out a lot of new growth but not buds. Usually I don't resume watering it until February but it never has started growing new foliage this early. Should I stsart to water now? Thanks everyone.
Mine bloomed next to a south west window during winter. This window was putting out some cold temps during the windy days. it was also in a winter rest for three months prior to blooming
African Violets are not lithophytes too. This from a higher up at the African Violet Society.
Lithophytes depend primarily on the atmosphere for their support. While
African violets also are found on rocks with roots growing in moss, they
draw most of their nutrients and support through their roots. I'm no expert
on orchids, but I can tell you with certainty that African violets are not
lithophytic.
Happy Growing!
