New from South Africa
Hi, I am Fiona, built a shade house with the help from son-in-law and husband in the beginning of the year. Cannot believe the difference in the orchids since they have moved in! I spend as much time as possible in it. This last week we built a small water feature in it to increase the humidity and also connected the rain water tank to it!

I have an Angraecum Longiscott, haven't seen it flowering yet, have only had it for a few months, can't wait to see the first flowers shooting out. If watching my orchids could speed up their growth, the shade house would be bursting at it's seams! The pics will follow soon. At the moment I have Epl Cinnamatica, Paph Pinnocio, a tiny Phalaenopsis, Den Burana Sunshine in bloom. In bud Vanda Aranda, Epl Little Nuggets and Den phalaenopsis.

Hi Des & Craig, it is incredibly hot and dry here. Our municipality has just installed a desalination plant, so that with a couple of boreholes is were we are getting our water from. Fortunately we installed two rainwater tanks in Nov, so have been able to keep the shade house going. Very hot here, spent the day fitting more shade cloth above Cats., they seem to be a bit sunburnt. Regards Fiona
