Thanks everyone for the lovely responses! I apologize for not being back for awhile having just signed up, but I can't seem to get on the board while at work (I know, that's bad!). My home computer is so slow, and I've been trying to write a thesis paper on it so I haven't had much time for anything else!

My vanilla finally died. As someone mentioned, it was getting close to flowering time, which makes it all the more terrible! I salvaged a few plump clippings and am trying to get them to take root, since I haven't been able to find another plant anywhere! My Dad was successful in growing a clipping from my plant, so maybe I'll have to steal it back when it gets bigger! It must've been a stroke of luck that I found this one at the one show...
Anyway, thanks for welcoming me and I hope to be around a little more!
Erica

I don't know for sure. Last summer, there was a mishap during a storm, and the plant was separated from the container, along with most of its roots. It was doing fine since then (I repotted), but something went wrong. Maybe the roots didn't take well? Or it was an exceptionally cold February in Cleveland.... And my house isn't the warmest. Although It is often really cool in my house and I've had it for 4 years! I don't know, but it is making me sad!
