If it infrequently dips down to 35 F, and the plant is found in elevations of up to 2500 m, then yes!

Just make sure the trees are big enough.

oh my!!!! i would like to try that! should i wait til spring??

i thought i only had one dowiana, but i have two--one's good, the other i have rooting in water/20-20-20. (no roots, just rhizome..trying it after seeing on the forum what's been done to encourage roots)

You mean Ecuagenera's eco-tour? Or growing your Cattleyas on trees?

If you mean the tour, I don't know when they'd hold another one, you gotta contact them.

If you mean growing the Catt on the tree, then if you feel more confident doing that during the spring, then go for it.
